EASY AND QUICK WAYS TO RID OFF CATARRH

Catarrh occurs when there is a build up of mucus in the nose or throat
, caused by inflammation of the mucus membranes. It usually develops alongside a cold or chesty cough. Luckily, there are several things you can try to get rid of catarrh

1. Breathe in steam. This method will help to loosen up and soften the mucus. You can heat some water in a bowl and breathe the steam, by holding your face above the water and placing a towel over your head.To improve the efficiency of this treatment, you can also add a teaspoon of menthol crystals to the water. Try this method two times a day

2. Gargle warm salt water. Gargle warm salt water as often as necessary. You can make this by mixing half a teaspoon of salt into a cup of warm water.Take a mouthful and gargle for 30 seconds, before spitting out. Do not swallow. This treatment is effective as salt has antibacterial properties and can cure inflammation in your throat.

3. Take decongestants. Decongestants will shrink the swollen tissues and blood vessels, relieving congestion. You can buy these drugs from any pharmacy, without a prescription. For immediate relief you should administer 30 to 60 milligrams every 4 to 6 hours.

4. Use a nasal decongestant spray.Purchase a spray such as Olynth o.o5 % - this spray consists of a substance called xylometazoline that constricts blood vessels in your nasal passageway. This helps to shrink the swollen mucous membranes and make your breathing easier. You can use this spray by inhaling one dose in each nostril up to three times a day.

5. Eat fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin A. Fruit and vegetables that are rich in vitamin A can be recognized for their orange color (which is produced by beta carotene). Fruit and vegetables belonging to this group include: carrots, oranges, red pepper, beetroot, berries, etc.

6. Up your intake of vitamin C. Eat fruit and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C and zinc. You can find vitamin C in almost all fruit and vegetables, while zinc can be found in things like wheat germ, pumpkin seeds and shellfish.

7. Drink mullein tea. Mullein tea will decrease chest congestion and help to eliminate the extra mucus. Use dried mullein leaves to fill a strainer or tea ball. Steep the leaves in a cup of boiling water for about ten minutes. Use honey to sweeten the tea and drink it as often as you wish.

8. Try drinking garlic tea. Garlic will increase your immunity and will help to decongest your airways. You will need 2 or 3 fresh garlic cloves, two cups of water and as much honey as you desire.Crush the garlic cloves with a fork or with the side of a knife blade. Add the garlic to the two cups of water in a saucepan and bring to the boil.Simmer for 15 minutes and allow the tea to cool down. Add the honey and drink as needed. You can also eat raw garlic if you do not want to drink garlic tea.
